‘Toning, holding a long note on one vowel-sound, is a deceptively simple yet incredibly powerful cleansing sonic meditation, especially when you consider every sound sacred as we do and as did the ancients. Applying the sacred vowels of the Sanskrit alphabet then to the chakras is an easily learnt form of musical-meditational practice that can be used daily on oneself or powerfully also in a group to cleanse stabilise and balance the aura and raise personal vibration.
To add in the element of overtoning, initially just by toning while changing vowels, is then an awesome further level of experience, as it allows you to sound THE cosmic archetype of the overtone scale/harmonic series , from which all sacred geometry and our musical scales, indeed the ratios and proportions and forms of life itself, are derived. This multiplies the vibration-raising effect of toning exponentially.
It is clear to us from our research and practice that hidden at the secret heart of all esoteric practice is sound, and, specifically, the art of toning and overtoning. Every culture has its own style, and every culture also has a connected tradition of sacred vocal sound or mantra which works with Divine Names: these names are usually in their essence as described above, a matter of vowel sounds in sequence—without consonants between. These Divine Names are often described as ‘not to be spoken’—this is because they are to be SUNG: toned and overtoned.
We believe also, for example, that in the sacred language of Sanskrit is embedded quite clearly and obviously an instruction to overtone as one of the ‘vowels’: the celebrated (and largely misunderstood) anusvāra.
Re-connecting to the Divine Roots of the primal language through honouring the archetype of each sound as an energy in its own right, and at the same time honouring the archetypes of the musical intervals which themselves derive from the overtone scale present in every single note—this is an indescribably powerful, cleansing, healing practice that absolutely cannot fail as a form of meditation to connect you to the Higher Self.
NB: Our ANGELS OF SOUND playshops also now present an opportunity for each participant to discover their own Key Tone (we are all in different keys) so that they can then work at home on a daily toning practice alongside our Chakra Tones CDs, (one in every key). The Cds mean we can now offer our knowedge in a manner that others can learn and apply to both themselves and others-so for the first time we are offering our two day weekend Playshops at Stour Row as Pure Sound Therapy Practitioner Modules! To qualify as a Practitioner, you must attend a full cycle of three modules, and submit 6 case studies. there is no time limit for completion and the cycles of Modules repeat with a mi nimum of 2 cycles per year.

The Language of Light is the sung language at the heart of all mantra work and the Ancient and Modern Sonic Mysteries, through which we invoke The Angels of Sound, activating and energising the cakras of the Subtle body (Vedic tradition) and the SePhIROTh of the LifeTree (Kabbalistic Tradition) through toning and overtoning the sacred vowel sounds of the magical languages of both traditions, (Sanskrit and Kuldee/Hebrew), and sounding the Divine Names which are combinations of these Primal Bija mantram.
