Dean Carter is a musician and teacher (MA Oxon, PGCE Cantab) who on becoming ill and unable to function found that working with Pure Sound was his healing salvation. Since then he has been sharing both the sound itself through Tibetan and crystal bowls and voice work, and the knowledge and technique of working with it both for self-healing and the healing of others.

The Centre For Pure Sound is conceived as a multi-denominational vehicle dedicated to the practical application of the use of Pure Sound for personal and planetary healing, meditation and ascension,. It incorporates all aspects of the world’s wisdom traditions that relate to these modalities, e.g. overtoning and Tibetan bowls, and newer techniques and tools that have been made available to humanity at this time of crisis and/or opportunity for evolution, e.g. crystal bowls.

We welcome all individuals and groups working with true integrity and healing intent in the field of healing sound and/or music, and indeed all individuals and groups working under the above ‘illumined obedience to the Higher Will ‘in whatever way towards global peace, healing, evolution, spiritual renewal, ecological sustainability, respect for all life forms-the ‘New Jerusalem’.

Our Divine Union Soundbaths use all three modalities and the participant simply lies and absorbs the sound and energy, although you can sit if preferred. As a form of meditation Pure Sound was the first and only vehicle I found  powerful enough to stop  ‘mind chatter’ –and the only  ‘technique’ involved is to be in the presence of the sound. This work cleanses and balances the aura and cakras of the subtle body while also providing a very strong physical detoxification.

Our Angels of Sound Voice Playshops, now consisting of a number of Modules are opportunities for people to discover the benefits of toning and overtoning for themselves (Module 1) and for others (Module 2 and Practitioner level)—the voice is a sound-healing instrument we don’t have to go out and buy-see homepage and events.

Working with Sacred Sound and the voice we think necessitates working with Sacred Languages and respecting them, and at least investigating and working towards, correct/true pronunciation. We work therefore with the Sacred Phonetic language of the East, Sanskrit, and  the Sacred Language of the Western Tradition, Hebrew. We also believe that these languages in their sacred context are to be SUNG, toned, overtoned, not merely spoken. We believe ultimately all mantra work has a sung basis and aspect.

In 121 work we establish the Key Tone and Soul Note of the individual participant through pendulum dowsing and can then work in a much more specific way in terms of pitch with the cakras  of the individual concerned. We do not believe that everyone vibrates at the same pitch or in the same key, so it is a nonsense to say that the note ‘C’ = the Root Cakra of all humans, for example. Working with the Soul Note and Key Note is also part of the more advanced levels of work within the Angels of Sound and Pure Sound Healing Practitioner Courses.

We do not believe that any one ethnic group or culture has all the answers, but that all the world’s wisdom traditions reflect ultimately a shared pool of deeper knowledge known as ‘the Perennial Philosophy’ which lie at the core of their apparent disparate and separate forms. We also believe in a movement back towards this unity of vision and a reconciliation and rapprochement of what have become splintered aspects of knowledge: thus THE CENTRE FOR PURE SOUND incorporates as a sub-heading of its mission a move towards a ‘New Pythagoreanism’ where the disparate branches of sound, mathematics, sacred geometry, gematria, language, physics, music, harmony, medicine, healing, poetry, architecture, literature, the visual arts, and so on, are re-united and found to be in at-one-ment.  The deeply ancient roots of such knowledge is also acknowledged—the Master Pythagoras was already reviving what had become lost and forgotten sacred knowledge when he walked the earth 2600 years ago.

I could feel the vibrations through my arm when I turned on to my side to stop the pain yesterday. The pain seemed to have gone when I got up. I had my first night’s sleep for a long time last night. I just would like to say thank you for the experience it was an amazing journey, felt really relaxing and also found it interesting, that however I felt very relaxed but yet I was very conscious about the different sounds and their effects on me. At some point with one of the tunes I felt that my body was actually purifying from the toxins and all the bad things it had, and once I had a sensation that some sort of big love (as if a great big mum) was cuddling and swinging me and I knew I was smiling at that point it felt just so nice and comforting.

The sound bath must have been a gateway to a higher plane because I then met with my Dad who passed away 19 years ago. An angel was there to assist with this. I asked him if there was anything he wanted me to know.

I  had a hearing problem ,having lost all sound in my right ear .  As I relaxed  and  listened I began to realise that I was hearing sound in my right ear .  I  could hardly believe it possible and felt  slightly anxious that it might go away as quickly as it had  come .

But it was here to stay    Somehow  the vocal overtoning and sound of the crystal and Tibetan  bowls must have  re -balanced  something in my  chakras and auric field .  I feel so privileged  to have been able to receive this healing  .   Thank you .
